Após uma estreia muito comentada em janeiro deste ano, o Israelense Shai T foi convidado a encerrar o Garden no último dia 9 de setembro. Além do merecido retorno, ele estava em tour pela américa do sul promovendo seu novo EP ‘’Oriki’’, lançando pelo Warung Recordings e com remix de Hernan Cattaneo & Marcelo Vasami. O EP está sendo um sucesso de críticas e sem dúvidas se tornou um dos mais importantes já promovidos pela gravadora.
Cheguei no club por volta da meia noite a fim de ouvir um pouco do warm-up de BLANCAh. A estelar residente consegue cumprir esse papel com a mesma elegância sonora e estética de quando está na versão headliner. Bpm mais baixo, sons menos explosivos, porém sem perder sentimento e atmosfera. Destaque para o ótimo momento criado com a pista ao tocar ‘’Fire’’ de Guy J. Essa faixa passou um pouco despercebida em seu último ep, mas é ideal para esses momentos mais introdutórios.
No final do set, próximo das 02h, ela trouxe a faixa ‘’You Sleep (feat Romana Storm fazendo um vocal hipnotizante) servindo para levantar a pista após o break. Foi o passe de bastão ideal para a entrada do próximo artista.
Desci para ver a hora final do residente Eduardo Schwartz. Ele estava em uma missão difícil, a pista não estava tão cheia, porém todos estavam dançando sob seu estilo deep tech com pitadas progressivas muito bem amarrado. Um verdadeiro warm-up sem cair em breaks longos e sem ficar aparecendo demais. Ele conseguiu levar assim até as 03h.
Shai T assume e logo trata de por energia tribal e mais velocidade a pista. A mudança foi notória, pois Shai sabe usar muito bem camadas de efeitos para puxar a pista para seu mundo tribal. Primeiro destaque vai para Veca Veloso em ‘’Todo’’ (Antdot & Maz remix). Faixa instantaneamente reconhecida.
Outro destaque veio com ‘’The Observer’’de Kasper Koman, um dos produtores que mais tenho ficado de olho no momento, ele vem em uma crescente impressionante sendo apadrinhado por ninguém menos que John Digweed.
Próximo da primeira hora, entra então a tão aguardada ‘’Oriki’’ de sua autoria. Ela é uma das faixas do ano dentro do organic house e não poderia faltar.
‘’Banho de Folhas’’ de Luedji & Maz, surge para todos cantarem juntos como poucas vezes vi no Warung. Ela é uma das faixas do ano entre todos os estilos e hype durante o verão europeu, algo realmente impressionante, com DJs de techno como Anna incluindo em seus finais de set e levando a bandeira do Brasil para todos os cantos. Um swing tribal muito brasileiro, com toques de samba e tropicalismo.
St Germain em ‘’So Flute’’ com algum edit provavelmente do próprio Shai, é outra música que não da pra deixar de destacar.
REIYM na faixa ‘’Unfurl’’ foi uma das melhores faixas ele tocou em nesta noite. Uma harmonia de elementos perfeita e com tom misterioso, do jeito que eu gosto.
DJ Pierre reescrevendo ‘’I feel Loved’’ de Donna Summer com remix de Monkey Safari. Um dos vocais mais clássicos da dance music sempre cai bem, e serve para mostrar a profundidade da pesquisa do artista que gosta de reverenciar a história.
Sabo & Noema – Daikato (DJ T REMIX) levou a pista a outro ritmo e ‘’Light My Fire’’ (ID edit) da banda de Rock progressivo The Doors foi inesperado, como tinha que ser. Ela é uma de minhas bandas favoritas e reviver as melodias junto do vocal incomparável de Jim Morrison soou tão atual como nunca.
Enamour ‘’Bending The light’’, foi outra faixa que é impossível de não lembrar, pois ela tem o que eu chamo de ‘’som de Warung’’. Nesse momento, entre as 5 e o fim, Shai sentiu que precisava acelerar o ritmo dentro de seu estilo e apertar o passo nas mixagens, para dar mais fluxo aos clubbers.
Planet Funk ‘’Chase the Sun’’ em um edit atual, um clássico que me vem a memória os anos dourados da barra Sul de BC cheia de clubs e vida noturna.
‘’Café Del Mar’’ de Energy 52 com remix de um dos meus produtores favoritos; Dale Middleton.
‘’Jaguar’’ de Sebastien Léger é um dos hinos dos últimos anos e foi aquela música para sinalizar o final do set, ainda que o sentimento fosse de estar apenas na metade. Durante o inverno o sol acontece mais tarde, fazendo com que a festa termine ainda com certa escuridão.
Após os aplausos ele soltou nada menos que a lendária ‘’Insomnia’’ (edit ID) de Faitheless, encerrando de forma magistral.
Uma das coisas que eu mais gosto em Shai T é que ele não se prende a promos, ele gosta de tocar sons mais antigos com edições atuais, gosta de reviver vocais históricos, gosta de proporcionar educação a pista, mesmo que muitos ali, por estarem iniciando na cena, não saibam do que se trata. Porém é aí mesmo que importa, pois esse público novo irá pesquisar e descobrir sobre a importância de certas músicas no contexto de evolução da dance music mundial, o quanto alguns vocais quebraram barreiras e se tornaram super populares, levando o som club para as casas, carros e rádios de todo mundo.
Shai T esbanja confiança tocando com as 4 CDJs e deixando vários loops abertos para preencher a músicas principal. É um grande produtor e também um ótimo DJ, a moda antiga, que olha pra pista e se preocupa sempre em manter o ritmo. Acredito que com alguns ajustes de velocidade, ele estará no patamar dos grandes nos próximos anos.

After a much talked about debut in January of this year, the Israeli Shai T was invited to close the Garden on September 9th. In addition to the well-deserved return, he was touring south america promoting his new EP ‘’Oriki’’, released by Warung Recordings and with a remix by Hernan Cattaneo & Marcelo Vasami. The EP is being a critical success and without a doubt has become one of the most important ever promoted by the label.
After see Blancah at Inside, i went down Garden to see the final hour of the resident Eduardo Schwartz. He was on a difficult mission, the floor wasn’t that full, but everyone was dancing to his deep tech style with progressive pinches very well tied. A real warm-up without falling into long breaks and without showing too much. He managed to take it like this until 03:00.
Shai T takes over and soon tries to put tribal energy and more speed to the dance floor. The change was noticeable, as Shai knows how to use layers of effects very well to pull the crowd into his tribal world. First highlight goes to Veca Veloso in ‘’Todo’’ (Antdot & Maz remix). Another highlight came with Kasper Koman’s ”The Observer”, one of the producers I’ve been keeping an eye on at the moment, he comes in an impressive crescent being sponsored by none other than John Digweed.
Close to the first hour, the long-awaited ”Oriki” by him comes in. It is one of the music of the year within organic house and couldn’t miss it.
”Banho de Folhas” by Luedji & Mas, appears for everyone to sing together as I have rarely seen in Warung. It is one of the tracks of the year among all styles and hype during the European summer, something really impressive, with techno DJs like Anna including in her final sets and taking the Brazilian flag to every corner. A very Brazilian tribal swing, with touches of samba and tropicalism.
St Germain on ‘’So Flute’’ with an edit probably by Shai himself, it’s another song that can’t be missed.
REIYM on the music ‘Unfurl’ was one of the best tracks he played during the night. A perfect harmony of elements with a mysterious tone, just the way I like it.

One of the things I like most about Shai T is that he doesn’t get hung up on promos, he likes to play older sounds with current editions, he likes to revive historic vocals, he likes to provide education to the people, even if many are there, because they are starting on the scene, don’t know what it’s about. But that’s what matters, because this new audience will research and find out about the importance of certain songs in the context of the evolution of dance music worldwide, how some vocals broke barriers and became super popular, taking the club sound to the houses, cars and radios from all over the world.
Shai T exudes confidence playing with the 4 CDJs and leaving several loops open to fill in the main song. He’s a great producer and also a great old-fashioned DJ who looks at the dance floor and always cares about keeping the rhythm. I believe that with some speed adjustments, he will be at the level of the greats in the next few years.
