Em 2021, alcançou o primeiro lugar no Traxsource em quatro ocasiões distintas, emplacando faixas para World Up, Boom Boom Room e Moon Rocket. Seu trabalho não passa despercebido, o que resultou em sua classificação como o 25º melhor artista de Tech House e o 301º melhor artista geral de 2022 pela Traxsource. Olá, DiMo (BG), seja bem-vindo à GRVE! São já 20 anos de carreira e uma vasta experiência acumulada. Poderia compartilhar conosco como tudo começou na música eletrônica? Como foi dar os primeiros passos na cena da Bulgária?
Olá! Antes de mais nada, obrigado por me receberem aqui. Minha família tem formação musical e eu já era DJ há alguns anos quando ganhei a maior competição de DJs da Bulgária. Então percebi que a coisa era séria e as gigs começaram a chegar. Eu estava tocando muito e logo surgiu a necessidade de colocar uma assinatura nos meus sets e foi nesse momento que comecei a produzir minhas próprias faixas.
Observando seu catálogo de lançamentos, é evidente sua alternância entre Tech House e Afro House, sempre inclinado a um estilo com percussões tribais e sonoridades étnicas. Quais são suas principais influências na hora de produzir? Poderia compartilhar um pouco sobre seu processo criativo?
Passei por muitos gêneros no meu caminho como artista. Nesses 20 anos, muitas coisas mudaram no mundo e meu foco sempre foi fazer música para as pessoas na pista de dança.
Quando se trata de produzir, saber como definir o clima é crucial. Muitas vezes, isso vem da música que ouço, Black Coffee, The Weekend, Lenny Kravitz ou algum grande problema social ou acontecimento incomum ao redor do mundo.
Adoro as longas sessões de estúdio. Então vou para meu estúdio e passo o dia inteiro. Chega um momento em que não há distração, entro no fluxo e as ideias surgem. Normalmente, começo com o gancho e construo tudo em torno dele. Gosto de tocar sintetizadores estranhos e, em seguida, removo e corto as partes que se encaixam no meu ritmo.
Você alcançou um sucesso notável na indústria, com várias faixas atingindo o primeiro lugar no Traxsource. Como descreveria o impacto disso em sua carreira?
Ahh, foi incrível. Passei muito tempo no estúdio aprimorando minhas habilidades e fazendo várias faixas e, no final das contas, o trabalho duro valeu a pena. Assinei contrato com algumas gravadoras excelentes para chegar a esse ponto. Uma das faixas que alcançou o primeiro lugar geral foi lançada pela minha gravadora World Up e isso foi ainda melhor. Isso fez com que toda a marca fosse reconhecida mundialmente e a ajudou a contratar artistas incríveis. É claro que essa conquista deu um pontapé na minha agenda. Recebi solicitações de bookings do mundo todo: Canadá, Dubai, Espanha, Ibiza, Romênia etc. No momento, meu agente está trabalhando em uma turnê latino-americana para mim e estou animado para ir tocar por aí.
Em 2022, lançou seu selo “Katun”, focado em música eletrônica orgânica e espiritual. O que os ouvintes podem esperar dessa nova empreitada? O que diferencia DiMo (BG) de Red Circle?
A Katun Tribe é uma gravadora, um evento conceito e uma comunidade de pessoas com ideias semelhantes, que adoram contar histórias por meio da música. Nossa jornada tem o objetivo de unir cada vez mais pessoas em um nível espiritual, impulsionado pela música, pela emoção e pelo respeito ao mundo multicultural em que vivemos. Estamos fazendo isso em colaboração com Diass e Mr.K.
Red Circle é o nome da nossa dupla DiMO (BG) e Mr.K, onde nos concentramos no conceito orgânico e profundo no estúdio e também na apresentação.
Esta é sua segunda colaboração com a Adesso Music. No primeiro momento, trabalhou em um remix de Cassimm “Son de Lo”. Agora, com “American People”, colabora com o mexicano Joy Marquez. Como foi a interação com a gravadora? Poderia nos contar sobre o processo de lançamento?
É um prazer trabalhar com profissionais. A Adesso é sempre muito clara e rápida em todos os aspectos das nossas relações. Meu remix de Cassimm recebeu uma exposição muito boa e foi tocado por Joris Voorn, Vintage Culture, Chapter and Verse e muitos outros artistas em todo o mundo! Acho que a Adesso fez um ótimo trabalho para o lançamento!
“American People” ainda é uma música nova. Acho que é uma boa faixa para o verão, porque quando ouço a música me imagino em um clube na praia ou em um espaço aberto com uma grande multidão compartilhando energia na pista de dança e tenho certeza de que ela vai alcançar mais pessoas nessa época.
Como se deu o encontro criativo entre você e Joy Marquez? Qual mensagem vocês quiseram trazer em American People?
Eu toco várias tracks do Joy Marquez. Gosto da produção e do som dele. Um dia, um amigo em comum, Mike D, me mandou uma mensagem com essa ideia e fez a conexão. Combinamos rapidamente com o Joy Marquez e fizemos a faixa em uma semana. Minha mensagem é “Unir as pessoas em nome da música” e tenho muita sorte de poder ir aos Estados Unidos e divulgá-la para tocar mais almas com uma boa seleção de faixas específicas.
2024 está só começando! Quais são seus planos para este ano? Poderia nos adiantar algo?
Estou animado com 2024! Estou muito feliz com minha agenda de lançamentos até agora. Comecei este ano com o lançamento de Hurry Up Slowly, com Mili, e em breve lançarei outro com Mili e Eran Hersh pela “Make Girls Dance”. Também tenho faixas para “Sacro” da Mestiza com Diass, “Hotl Records” com Joe Diem, “Afrodise” com Aaron Sevila, “Sunset Gathering” com Silver Ivanov e muitas faixas solo para “World Up Records” e “Katun” Tribe. Também tenho alguns projetos para concluir antes do verão e um deles será 100% Adesso.
Como DJ, estou totalmente bookado para a temporada e vou me juntar à Hacienda Beach para minha 14ª residência de verão.

Recognition in the Bulgarian scene and a 20-year career: We spoke with DiMo (BG)
It only takes a quick look at DiMo’s (BG) Instagram profile to realize how hectic his life is behind the DJ booths. Perhaps this is a reflection of his schedule of more than 100 gigs a year, or even the recognition for his work in the Bulgarian music scene, where he has accumulated over 20 years of experience. His music has already made it onto labels such as Defected and Switch Lab, receiving much praise from Roger Sanchez to Bedouin.
With productions that are always full of musicality, striking percussions and references that dialogue with different strands of House Music, DiMo has spent 14 years as a resident at the prestigious Bedroom Premium Club and 11 years at Bulgaria’s leading beach club. In 2021, he reached number one on Traxsource on four separate occasions, with tracks for World Up, Boom Boom Room and Moon Rocket. His work has not gone unnoticed, resulting in him being ranked the 25th best Tech House artist and the 301st best overall artist of 2022 by Traxsource. In addition to these achievements, DiMo BG has twice been awarded the title of “Best DJ of the Year” by Awards.bg and in DJ competitions. He has also received support from influential names in the industry such as Bedouin, Dubfire, Claptone and Roger Sanchez, which further underlines the quality and relevance of his productions.
In a bold move in 2022, the producer expanded his musical horizons by opening the Katun record label in partnership with Diass and Mr.K, directing his energy towards organic, ritualistic and spiritual electronic music. Under the pseudonym Red Circle, in collaboration with Mr.K, he ventured into new musical territories, pushing the boundaries of creativity and musical expression. It’s clear to see how in this project his productive vein runs more towards downtempo and meditative.

Hello, DiMo (BG), welcome to GRVE! You’ve been working for 20 years and have a wealth of experience. Could you share with us how you got started in electronic music? What was it like taking your first steps on the Bulgarian scene?
Hello, Thanks for having me here first of all. I have a musical background in my family and I was already DJing for some years when I won the biggest Dj competition in Bulgaria. Then I realized it was serious and a lot of gigs started coming. I was playing a lot and very soon came the need to put a signature in my sets and that was the moment I started to produce my own tracks.
Looking at your catalog of releases, it’s clear that you alternate between Tech House and Afro House, always leaning towards a style with tribal percussions and ethnic sounds. What are your main influences when it comes to producing? Could you share a little about your creative process?
I went through many genres on my way as an artist. For these 20 years many things have changed in the world and my focus always is to make music for the people on the dance floor.
When it comes to producing, the mood setting is crucial. Many times it comes from the music I listen to, Black Coffee, The Weekend, Lenny Kravitz or some big social issue or unusual happening around the globe.
I love the long studio sessions. So I go to my studio and spend the whole day. At some point of no distraction I enter the flow and the ideas come along. Usually I start with the hook and build everything around it. I like to play weird synths then I resemble and chop the parts that fit in my groove.
You’ve achieved remarkable success in the industry, with several tracks reaching number one on Traxsource. How would you describe the impact of this on your career?
Ahh that was amazing. I spent a lot of time in the studio improving my skills and making tons of tracks and at the end of the day the hard work paid off. I signed with some great labels to get to that point. One of the tracks that hit overall number one was released on my label World Up and that was even greater. It made the whole brand recognised worldwide and helped it to sign amazing artists. Of course this achievement made a kick on my schedule. I got booking requests from all over the world Canada, Dubai, Spain, Ibiza, Romania etc. Right now my agent works on a Latin American tour for me and I am excited to go and play there.
In 2022, you launched your label “Katun”, focused on organic and spiritual electronic music. What can listeners expect from this new venture? What differentiates DiMo (BG) from Red Circle?
Katun Tribe brings together a recording label, event concept and community of like-minded people, who love storytelling through music. Our journey has the goal to unite more and more people on a spiritual level, driven by the music, emotion and respect of the multicultural world we all live in. We are doing this in collaboration with Diass and Mr.K.
Red Circle is the name of our duo DiMO (BG) and Mr.K where we are focused on the organic, deep concept in the studio and the performance as well.
This is your second collaboration with Adesso Music. At first, you worked on a remix of Cassimm’s “Son de Lo”. Now, with “American People”, you’re collaborating with Mexican Joy Marquez. How was your interaction with the label? Could you tell us about the release process?
It’s a pleasure to work with professionals. Adesso are always crystal clear and fast in every aspect of our relations. My remix of Cassimm received very good exposure and is played by Joris Voorn, Vintage Culture, Chapter and Verse and many many artists around the world! I think Adesso did a great job for the release!
“American People” is still fresh one. I think it’s a good track for the summer, because when I listen to it I imagine myself in a beach club or open space with a huge crowd sharing energy on the dance floor and I am pretty sure it will reach more people then.
How did you and Joy Marquez meet creatively? What message did you want to bring out in American People?
A: I play a lot of tracks from Joy Marquez. I like his production and sound. One day a friend in common, Mike D texted me that idea and made the connection. We match very quickly with Joy Marquez and did the track in a week. My message is “Unite people in the name of music” and I’m really lucky I can go to America and spread it to touch more souls with a fine selection of specific tracks.
2024 is just beginning! What are your plans for this year? Can you tell us anything?
A: I am excited about 2024! I am really happy with my release schedule so far. I started this year with a release for Hurry Up Slowly with Mili, there is another one with Mili and Eran Hersh coming out very soon on “Make Girls Dance”. I also have a tracks for “Sacro” by Mestiza with Diass, “Hotl Records” with Joe Diem, “Afrodise” with Aaron Sevila, “Sunset Gathering” with Silver Ivanov and a lot of solo tracks for “World Up Records” and “Katun” Tribe.
I also have some projects to finish before the summer and one of them is going to be Adesso 100%
As a Dj I am fully booked for the season and will join Hacienda Beach for my 14th Summer residence.
