Olá, Alex! Ficamos curiosos em entender melhor a sua participação no Marmarela. Além de já tocar lá há algum tempo, você também ocupa a posição de diretor. Como se deu esse relacionamento com o club e como é o seu trabalho ao lado da marca?
Olá! Minha jornada com a Marmarela tem sido bastante empolgante e evolutiva. Tudo começou quando decidi me aventurar a organizar meus próprios eventos como promoter. Alicante representou um desafio inicialmente devido à sua cultura limitada de música eletrônica. No entanto, vi uma oportunidade de preencher essa lacuna e criar algo único.
Nos últimos 7 anos, trabalhei incansavelmente para transformar a Marmarela em um dos principais clubes de música eletrônica da Espanha. Minha função como diretor envolve supervisionar a visão geral e a direção do clube. Isso inclui moldar o conceito, fazer a curadoria da programação musical e garantir que o Marmarela proporcione uma experiência distinta e memorável aos nossos clientes.
Além da minha função de diretor, também tive o privilégio de atuar como DJ no Marmarela. Essa dupla função me permite não apenas moldar a identidade do clube, mas também contribuir ativamente para sua jornada musical. Tenho muito orgulho do fato de termos conseguido contratar alguns dos DJs mais importantes do mundo e promover o crescimento de talentos emergentes.
A arte de um bom warm-up é algo que valorizo particularmente e é um aspecto crucial do meu envolvimento com a Marmarela. Criar uma atmosfera que prepare o palco para os shows principais e aprimore a experiência geral é uma habilidade que aperfeiçoo continuamente.
De modo geral, meu relacionamento com a Marmarela está profundamente enraizado na paixão, na dedicação e no compromisso compartilhado de promover o cenário da música eletrônica em Alicante e além. Tem sido uma jornada gratificante e espero continuar a elevar o status do clube e contribuir para o vibrante mundo da música eletrônica.
Quando falamos sobre a cena eletrônica da Espanha, é muito comum batermos na tecla de Ibiza e Barcelona, principalmente, mas sabemos que há algo muito além disso. Você, como um artista que cresceu e consolidou sua carreira no país, o que apontaria de mais interessante além destes dois locais citados?
Sem dúvida, embora Ibiza e Barcelona recebam, por direito, muita atenção no cenário da música eletrônica na Espanha, há um cenário rico e diversificado além desses destinos icônicos.
É essencial explorar e apreciar as cidades e vilas menores que podem não ser tão reconhecidas internacionalmente, mas que são parte integrante do tecido da música eletrônica do país. Cada região contribui com seu próprio sabor e energia para o cenário mais amplo da música eletrônica espanhola, criando um cenário diversificado e dinâmico que vai além dos pontos mais conhecidos.
Quais foram suas maiores dificuldades para construir sua carreira na Espanha? É um mercado concorrido? Você recomendaria que um artista local aqui do Brasil arriscasse se mudar para aí em busca de mais espaço e reconhecimento?
Construir uma carreira na Espanha teve seus desafios devido à cultura de música eletrônica inicialmente limitada em Alicante, e não tão popular como o reggaeton e outras músicas comerciais.
Embora o mercado de música eletrônica da Espanha seja competitivo, ele oferece diversas oportunidades além das cidades conhecidas. Para um artista brasileiro que esteja pensando em se mudar, a Espanha pode proporcionar uma experiência valiosa, mas o sucesso depende da compreensão das cenas locais, do networking e da adaptação a desafios específicos
E falando em consolidação, sua música alcançou um outro nível em 2023 com vários suportes de peso. Teve Fisher tocando ‘Veneno’, David Guetta e John Summit tocando ‘Control’, James Hype tocando ‘Work It Out’, entre outros… você acredita que chegou a um alto nível técnico e criativo na produção musical?
Sem dúvida, o reconhecimento e o apoio desses DJs de peso são marcos incríveis. Isso significa muito para mim – um reconhecimento do trabalho árduo e dos altos padrões que estabeleço para mim mesmo antes de terminar uma faixa. Mas isso é apenas o começo; tenho muito trabalho e um longo caminho a percorrer, passo a passo. Agora mais do que nunca, considerando que uma faixa só “vive” por 2 ou 3 meses no máximo.
Não podemos deixar de falar da sua nova música ‘Get Wild’, que acabou de sair pela Adesso Music. Achamos que ela reflete bem sua personalidade, é animada, “feliz”, mas possui uma linha de baixo rasgada e um groove bem robusto… nos conte mais sobre a ideia por trás dela.
Meu objetivo era criar uma faixa poderosa capaz de cativar a pista de dança a qualquer momento durante o show, inspirada pelo sucesso da minha faixa anterior, “Control”. Essa faixa vinha funcionando excepcionalmente bem em minhas apresentações. Para manter a continuidade, incorporei sons semelhantes, com um sintetizador robusto e um aumento prolongado que leva ao drop final.
Inicialmente, a criei como uma peça instrumental completa, que lembrava “Control”. Entretanto, sentindo o desejo de aprimorá-la ainda mais, decidi introduzir os vocais. Lembrando de uma introdução memorável de uma faixa do Jodeci, procurei um cantor para gravá-la para mim. Depois de incorporar os vocais, na primeira vez que a toquei ao vivo, fiquei completamente convencido de que mantê-la com aquele vocal era a escolha certa
E o que você ainda pretende compartilhar com o público nos próximos meses? Há alguma previsão de vê-lo no Brasil, quem sabe? Você já veio pra cá alguma vez?
Nos próximos meses, estou ansioso para compartilhar algumas músicas novas e inovadoras com o público. Embora meu foco principal seja organizar minha turnê para 2024, estou explorando ativamente as oportunidades, e há uma chance de vocês me verem no Brasil. Recebi ofertas para me apresentar com gravadoras brasileiras e estou realmente animado com a perspectiva. Se tudo se alinhar, será minha primeira vez no Brasil, e estou ansioso para conhecer a vibrante cena musical e me conectar com o público daí. É uma jornada empolgante, e mal posso esperar para ver aonde a música me levará em seguida.

Hello, Alex! We’re curious to understand your involvement with Marmarela better. Besides playing there for some time now, you also hold the position of director. How did this relationship with the club come about, and what is your role alongside the brand?
Hello! My journey with Marmarela has been quite an exciting and evolving one. It all started when I decided to venture into organizing my own events as a promoter. Alicante posed a challenge initially due to its limited electronic music culture. However, I saw an opportunity to fill that gap and create something unique.
Over the past 7 years, I’ve worked tirelessly to transform Marmarela into one of the leading electronic music clubs in Spain. My role as the director involves overseeing the overall vision and direction of the club. This includes shaping the concept, curating the musical programming, and ensuring that Marmarela provides a distinct and memorable experience for our patrons.
In addition to my role as a director, I’ve also had the privilege of playing as a DJ at Marmarela. This dual role allows me to not only shape the club’s identity but also actively contribute to its musical journey. I take great pride in the fact that we’ve been able to book some of the world’s most significant DJs and foster the growth of emerging talents.

When we talk about the electronic scene in Spain, it’s common to focus on Ibiza and Barcelona, mainly, but we know there’s much more to it. As an artist who grew up and consolidated his career in the country, what else would you point out beyond these two mentioned locations?
Absolutely, while Ibiza and Barcelona rightfully receive a lot of attention in the electronic music scene in Spain, there’s a rich and diverse landscape beyond these iconic destinations.
But there are other important cities that contributes to the electronic music scene in Spain and provide a platform for both established and emerging artists; with a big offer for the true ravers.
It’s essential to explore and appreciate the smaller cities and towns that might not be as internationally recognized but are integral to the country’s electronic music fabric. Each region contributes its own flavor and energy to the broader Spanish electronic music scene, creating a diverse and dynamic landscape that goes beyond the well-known hotspots.
What were your biggest challenges in building your career in Spain? Is it a competitive market? Would you recommend that a local artist from Brazil risk moving there in search of more space and recognition?
Building a career in Spain had its challenges due to the initially limited electronic music culture in Alicante, and not as mainstream like reggaeton and other commercial music.
While Spain’s electronic music market is competitive, it offers diverse opportunities beyond well-known cities. For a Brazilian artist considering a move, it can provide a valuable experience, but success depends on understanding local scenes, networking, and adapting to specific challenges
Speaking of consolidation, your music reached another level in 2023 with several heavyweight supports. You had Fisher playing ‘Veneno,’ David Guetta and John Summit playing ‘Control,’ James Hype playing ‘Work It Out,’ among others… Do you believe you have reached a high technical and creative level in music production?
Absolutely, the recognition and support from those heavyweight DJs are incredible milestones. It means a lot to me – a recognition of the hard work and the high standards I set for myself before finishing a track. But it’s only the beginning; I have a lot of work and a long road to walk, step by step. Now more than ever, considering that a track only ‘lives’ for 2 or 3 months at most
We can’t fail to mention your new song ‘Get Wild,’ which has just been released by Adesso Music. We feel it reflects your personality well; it’s lively, “happy,” but it also has a ripping bassline and a very robust groove… Tell us more about the idea behind it.
I aimed to create a powerful track capable of captivating the dance floor at any moment during the show, inspired by the success of my previous track, ‘Control.’ This track had been working exceptionally well in my performances. To maintain continuity, I incorporated similar sounds, featuring a robust synth and a prolonged build-up leading to the final drop.
Initially, I made it as a full instrumental piece, reminiscent of ‘Control.’ However, feeling the desire to enhance it further, I decided to introduce vocals. Recalling a memorable intro from a Jodeci track, I reached out to a singer to record it for me. After incorporating the vocals, the first time I played it live, I was completely convinced that keeping it with that vocal was the right choice
And what do you still intend to share with the audience in the coming months? Is there any chance we’ll see you in Brazil, perhaps? Have you ever been here before?
In the coming months, I’m eager to share some fresh and innovative music with the audience. While my primary focus is on organizing my tour for 2024, I’m actively exploring opportunities, and there’s a chance you might see me in Brazil. I’ve received offers to perform with Brazilian labels, and I’m genuinely excited about the prospect. If everything aligns, it would be my first time in Brazil, and I’m looking forward to experiencing the vibrant music scene and connecting with the audience there. It’s an exciting journey, and I can’t wait to see where the music takes me next
